  • Marvel Rivals is a live-service hero shooter by NetEase (PS5 / PC / Xbox Series X|S) — the only major Marvel live-service game currently on all three platforms
  • Marvel Rivals creative director announced in 2025-04 the studio is committing to a monthly new hero cadence

2. Why a crossover is almost certain

Three signals:

  1. Sony has a vested interest in driving PS5 sales for the Sept 15 launch. A Marvel Rivals crossover that adds a free Wolverine skin (or a crossover hero) exclusive to PS5 + Marvel Rivals would be a massive unlock for both franchises.
  2. Marvel Rivals already has a Spider-Man. Marvel Rivals launched with Spider-Man (from the Insomniac Spider-Man universe) as a Duelist in the base roster. The Wolverine game is also Insomniac. The shared-universe marketing logic is already there.
