Summer Game Fest 2026: Every Game Announced & Release Dates

Summer Game Fest 2026 ran live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday, June 5, 2026, hosted by Geoff Keighley and Lucy James. It was the largest SGF in the show’s history — roughly two hours of reveals, 24+ confirmed titles, and a post-show Play Days event from June 6–8. This article collects every announcement with platforms and release dates as confirmed by July 23, 2026.

Note: This is the confirmed list. Some rumors circulated at the show (notably a Microsoft handheld reveal that didn’t materialize) — those are excluded.

The biggest reveals (with release dates)

Final Fantasy VII Revelation — 2027 Spring

Square Enix confirmed Final Fantasy VII Revelation — the third and final part of the FF7 Remake trilogy — for spring 2027, full-platform launch (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch 2). The trailer showed the Highwind airship in flight, and Cloud’s party receiving Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind as full party members. Combat returns to the ATB system from Remake/Rebirth, but with real-time party swaps.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica — Remake

Capcom’s remake of the 2000 Dreamcast classic Resident Evil: Code Veronica got its first proper trailer. The original’s Claire Redfield / Steve Burnside / Alfred Ashford story is intact, but the entire game has been rebuilt in RE Engine (same as RE4 Remake and RE Village). No release date yet beyond “2027.”

Street Fighter 6 — Tifa Lockhart DLC (Year 4)

Capcom dropped a Year 4 DLC roadmap for Street Fighter 6 with Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy VII) as a crossover guest character. She’s slated for early 2027, with three costumes (default, FF7R Remake dress, Advent Children). Voice acting is handled by Britt Baron (the FF7R Remake Tifa).

gen Atlas — gen Design’s first new game since 2016

Fumito Ueda’s studio gen DESIGN unveiled gen Atlas — Ueda’s first new project since The Last Guardian shipped in 2016. The trailer showed a sci-fi mystery setting with a young protagonist exploring a colossal structure that looks like a half-buried machine. No gameplay shown. No date.

Blood Message — NetEase 24 Studios

NetEase’s 24 Studios (the team behind Naraka: Bladepoint) showed Blood Message — a single-player action game set in the late Tang dynasty. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the trailer emphasized cinematic combat and historical authenticity. This is the first Chinese-developed single-player AAA to debut on a global SGF stage.

Cuphead — The Delicious Last Course follow-up + new title

Studio MDHR confirmed two things:

Cuphead (the 2017 original) is getting a free update on Switch 2 with 4K / 120fps support and Joy-Con 2 mouse-mode aiming — out August 2026.
A new hand-drawn title is in development. No name, no date, but the trailer showed the same 1930s-cartoon style.

Control: Resonance — September 24, 2026

Remedy’s Control: Resonance — a standalone expansion / sequel to Control (2019) — drops September 24, 2026. Set in the same Federal Bureau of Control universe but with new protagonist Maya (an ex-FBC analyst). Includes the same telekinetic gunplay plus a new “resonance” mechanic that lets you manipulate enemy weapons mid-fight.

Alien: Isolation 2

Creative Assembly announced Alien: Isolation 2 — the sequel to the 2014 survival horror game. No trailer, no date, just a logo and a brief statement that the game is in “active development.” The first game has aged exceptionally well, so expectations are high.

Guild Wars 3

ArenaNet dropped a 90-second cinematic for Guild Wars 3 — the third mainline Guild Wars MMO. Built on a new engine, the trailer focused on Canthan dragon art and a return to the original Guild Wars Factions aesthetic. No gameplay shown.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer — October 6, 2026

EA’s Star Wars: Galactic Racer is an arcade racer set in the Star Wars universe, similar in style to Star Wars Episode I: Racer but rebuilt for current-gen hardware. 25 tracks, 8 racers at launch, plus Podracer, Speeder, and Starfighter modes.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag — Memory Reset

Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag — Memory Reset (working title). It’s not a full remake; it’s a “narrative reset” that retells Edward Kenway’s story with modern mechanics from Assassin’s Creed Shadows (parkour, combat). Set in the same Caribbean but with new side characters and a reworked ship-combat system.

TMNT: The Last Ronin — PlatinumGames

Paramount and PlatinumGames announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin — an action game based on the 2020 comic series. Single-player, cinematic combat, and a moody tone closer to Metal Gear Rising than the classic beat-em-up style.

Gundam Rogue Orbit — Bandai Namco

Bandai Namco revealed Gundam Rogue Orbit — a mech action game with rogue-lite progression. Roguelike structure, randomized pilot loadouts, and the first new Gundam roster since Gundam Breaker 4.

Crossfire: Lurker — Smilegate

Smilegate showed Crossfire: Lurker, a single-player tactical FPS set in the Crossfire universe. The trailer focused on squad-based stealth missions and a “lurker” class that can infiltrate enemy bases solo. It’s a deliberate departure from the multiplayer-focused Crossfire franchise.

HAEX — Open-world action-adventure

Different From Heaven — January 15, 2027

This is one of the few Chinese-developed single-player games to get a confirmed release date at SGF. Different From Heaven is a story-driven adventure set in a near-future China. PSN HK pricing is HK$468 (standard) / HK$608 (deluxe).

Most-anticipated picks (based on search + community buzz)

Final Fantasy VII Revelation — clearly the headline. Square Enix is holding back the bulk of the trailer for The Game Awards in December.
Resident Evil: Code Veronica (Remake) — Capcom’s remakes have been consistently good since RE2 (2019). High expectations.
Control: Resonance — closest to launch (September 24, 2026), and Remedy rarely misses.
gen Atlas — the “what is Ueda doing?” curiosity. No gameplay shown is intentional.
Blood Message — the dark-horse single-player action hit. NetEase 24 Studios’ first global single-player push.

Games that didn’t show up

The Elder Scrolls VI — Bethesda skipped SGF 2026, expected at The Game Awards instead.
GTA VI — Rockstar’s standard “no press event” stance held.
Fable — Xbox’s showcase was a separate event later that week, not SGF.
Any new from Nintendo — Nintendo Direct happened in April, no June Direct expected.
FromSoftware — no new project, just DLC info for Elden Ring Nightreign.

How to actually watch the show

The full SGF 2026 main stage is on YouTube (Geoff Keighley’s channel) and Twitch. It’s split into roughly 8 segments with 12–18 minute gaps between announcements. The total runtime is ~2 hours, but the actual reveals are about 75 minutes of content.

The Play Days event (June 6–8) was a press-only hands-on. Coverage from IGN, GameSpot, and Polygon is on YouTube.

SGF 2026 was a strong show with at least 5 confirmed 2026 launches. For a typical mid-2026 cadence, that’s healthy.

Where to start

If you can only play one game from this list, the consensus pick is Control: Resonance — Remedy’s track record plus the September 24 launch date makes it the lowest-risk pick. If you have a Switch 2, the Cuphead 4K / 120fps update in August is essentially free if you already own the game.
